Hector Kilpatrick MSc, ASIP
Chief Investment Officer
Hector joined Cornelian from Scottish Value Management where he managed the successful SVM UK Alpha Fund. Prior to this, he spent over six years at Standard Life Investments where he was appointed Investment Director, and was a key member of the Continental European equities team. Hector started his career at Norwich Union Investment Management having completed an MBA in Strategic Management from Imperial College Business School. At Cornelian, Hector is responsible for the management and development of the investment process and investment performance across all funds. He also works closely with the Private Clients & Charities team, headed by Marcus Brooks, in the daily monitoring and management of our client portfolios.
Marcus Brooks MA, ASIP
Director - Head of Private Clients & Charities
Marcus joined Cornelian Asset Managers as a Director in 2002. In addition to his client responsibilities, Marcus leads the Private Client & Charities team and reports to the Board on the management and performance of private client and charity portfolios. A graduate of Oxford University, Marcus worked previously at the SG Warburg Group and Kleinwort Benson in London before moving to Stewart Ivory in 1994. At Stewart Ivory he was responsible for UK Equity and Fixed Interest investment and managed Investment Trust, Unit Trust, Pension and Charity portfolios.
Bill Bulloch BSc (Hons) MSc
Associate Director
Bill joined Cornelian in July 2008 from Scottish Widows Investment Partnership where, as Development Director he was responsible for establishing their 'liability driven' investment capabilities. Prior to this he was with Abbey National Asset Managers for 13 years, initially as a successful UK equity fund manager before being promoted to Deputy Head of Asset Allocation and Global Strategy with responsibility for a wide range of risk graded multi-asset portfolios. Bill's role at Cornelian includes researching UK equities, selecting specialist funds and contributing to asset allocation decisions for all client portfolios. He also plays an active role in new product development and creating investment solutions for institutional clients.
Stephen Hunter BCom (Hons), ASIP
Director, Private Clients & Charities
Stephen joined Cornelian Asset Managers in 1998 from ABN AMRO Asset Management in London. Stephen is an Associate of the Society of Investment Professionals (ASIP) and has extensive experience in equity and fund research having chaired the Cornelian Research Committee. Stephen is a member of the research team and manages Private Client, Pension and Charity portfolios.
Richard Alexander BSc (Hons), MSc
Associate Director, Portfolio Management & Dealing
Richard joined Cornelian in March 2009 from Blackrock Investment Management where as Director of Global Equity Dealing he was responsible for the implementation of many projects and improvements. He has degrees in Computer Science from Aberdeen University and in Computation (Mathematics) from Oxford, and brings a very broad experience to Cornelian covering leading edge technology and processes for dealing and for the management of risks in portfolio construction processes.
David Graham ASIP
Investment Manager, Private Clients & Charities
After working in the investment departments of The Royal Bank of Scotland in Edinburgh and Commercial Union in London and Japan, David relocated to Scotland with General Accident in 1995 and joined Cornelian Asset Managers in 1998. He was head of Japanese Equities at Commercial Union and General Accident. In addition, he was joint head of overseas equities and was a member of the asset allocation committee. David's role at Cornelian is daily monitoring and active management of client portfolios.
Adam Paterson MSc, BA (Hons)
Portfolio Manager, Private Clients & Charities
Adam joined Cornelian in 2010 after completing an MSc in Investment Analysis from the University of Stirling. Prior to this, Adam worked for both JP Morgan and Resolution Asset Management in a variety of operational and accounting roles. At Cornelian, Adam is responsible for the daily monitoring and management of client portfolios.
Aga Krzeczkowska MA MSc
Portfolio Manager
Aga joined Cornelian in 2011 as a Portfolio Manager, having previously worked at Newton Investment Management‘s Private Client Team. Prior to this Aga worked for BNY Mellon Asset Servicing as a Relationship Manager, building relationships and developing business with institutional fund managers in Scotland. Aga obtained the Investment Management Certificate and is currently studying for the Investment Advice Diploma. She also holds an MA degree in Scandinavian Studies from the University of Gdansk and an MSc in European Studies from Heriot-Watt University. At Cornelian, Aga is responsible for the daily monitoring and management of client portfolios.
Richard Stark MA (Hons) MSc
Trainee Investment Analyst
Richard joined Cornelian in 2011 as an Investment Analyst, having completed an MSc in Finance & Investment at the University of Edinburgh. Prior to this he worked for BlackRock Investment Management (Edinburgh office) and as part of the Masters programme, completed a sponsored project with Ria Capital Markets. He also holds an MA (Hons) in Business Studies & Accounting from Edinburgh. At Cornelian, Richard is responsible for researching UK equities.
