Why a Cornelian SIPP?

The ‘Cornelian SIPP’ has been created to enable investors to have their pension investments managed within a discretionary portfolio but also to create a flexible menu of pension scheme investments. This gives investors choice and control over their pension assets. Investors will gain access to the experience and quality of our team of investment managers, coupled with the inherent strengths of our investment process.

How a Cornelian SIPP works

The Cornelian SIPP has been developed by Cornelian Asset Managers in conjunction with Hornbuckle Mitchell a well established company of pension trustees and administrators. An application is completed to open a Private Pension Account with Hornbuckle Mitchell who will carry out the administrative arrangements including tax claims (where appropriate) and ensure compliance with Inland Revenue Pension legislation. Subsequently, funds will be transferred to Cornelian Asset Managers for investment.

The SIPP will operate under the terms of a Discretionary Investment Management Agreement and you may make payments to your SIPP with lump sums or by standing order.

There are three parties to a SIPP arrangement: the client and/or his adviser, the investment manager and the pension administrator. The following diagram illustrates the participants in a Cornelian SIPP:

You and/or your Financial Adviser

  • Decide whether a Cornelian SIPP is appropriate for you
  • Make all decisions regarding pension transfers and scheme choice

Investment Manager - Cornelian Asset Managers

  • Manage your investments in line with your pension aims and objectives

Pension Administrator – Hornbuckle Mitchell (or your chosen administrator)

  • Acts as co-trustee of the pension fund
  • Administers the tax and regulatory aspects

It is important to take specialist pension advice in relation to establishing or changing your pension arrangements and you are strongly recommended to consult a pension adviser regarding the suitability of the Cornelian SIPP for your requirements. Cornelian Asset Managers is your designated investment manager and is not authorised to provide pension advice or conduct pension administration.

The Cornelian SIPP has been constructed in conjunction with Hornbuckle Mitchell with the charging structures as detailed in this document. However, should you already have a pension administrator or alternative administrator that you wish us to use we would be happy to discuss alternative terms.

The Cornelian SIPP offers a flexible and cost effective way for clients to take control of their pension investments. A menu of three schemes is offered with different contribution entry levels and clients may select one or a combination of the schemes available.
