Our History

Since our founding in 1992 Cornelian Asset Managers has grown its business and developed its product offerings for an ever increasing customer base.  We have an outstanding team dedicated to growing and protecting our clients' real wealth and to providing our clients and advisers with the highest possible standard of service.

  • 1992

    • Noble Asset Managers set up in Edinburgh providing investment management services to private clients and charities
  • 2000

    • Management Buyout of Noble Asset Managers from Noble Group – £30m Funds under Management
  • 2005

    • Name change to Cornelian Asset Managers
    • Launch first Multi–Asset OEIC Funds: Growth and Balanced (later named Cautious)
  • 2009

    • Developed multi-asset investment proposition for private clients and intermediary market for post FCA Retail Distribution Review
  • 2010

    • Growth and Cautious Funds reach 5 year investment performance milestones
    • Launch of three further multi-asset OEIC funds: Defensive, Managed Growth and Progressive bringing the risk-managed fund range to five
  • 2013

    • Funds under management reach £500 million
  • 2015

    • Growth and Cautious Funds reach 10 year investment performance milestones
    • Defensive, Managed Growth and Progressive funds reach 5 year investment performance milestones
    • Launch of the Managed Income Fund adding to the risk-managed fund range
  • 2016

    • Launch of the multi-asset Passive fund range
    • Funds under Management reach £1 billion
  • 2017

    • Funds under management at calendar year end were £1.35 billion
  • 2018

    • Managed Income Fund reaches 3 year investment performance milestone.
  • 2019

    • Funds under management at the end of July 2019 were £1.41 billion
    • Risk Managed Passive Range reaches its 3 year investment performance milestones
  • 2020

    • Cornelian Asset Managers is acquired by the Brooks Macdonald Group
