An Unconstrained Approach
Many funds are placed within the Investment Management Association sectors. To be included within these sectors funds must comply with various requirements relating to investments and asset classes which act as restrictions for our investment team. The Cornelian Risk Managed portfolios are not constrained in this way, and that leaves our fund managers free to invest with a clear focus on the investment and risk objectives of each portfolio.

The Authorised Corporate Director (ACD) has selected the above target benchmarks as the ACD believes it best reflects the target of returns above inflation over a five to seven year investment cycle after costs.
Add real value
For most investors, growing their portfolio value in real terms is their most important benchmark. Our goals are to add real value to clients’ investment over the long term, targeting returns in excess of RPI.
Avoid artificial constraints
We have removed all artificial barriers that might restrict investment performance to ensure that our funds are ‘unconstrained’. Our investment team are free to invest in the asset classes that they believe will add most value to investors.
Although the upper expected volatility limit of our funds will not be exceeded, we are not constrained by a lower volatility limit that might prevent us from taking appropriate defensive action for investors. We therefore manage risk below an upper limit, but have the freedom to be prudent.
Manage the funds actively
Markets do not move to a timetable. We continually review the funds and actively manage the investments on a daily basis to reflect the mix of assets that we believe will add best value to investors.
‘Value for Money’ approach
We access investments in a manner that provides our clients with the best value for money. For each of our funds, our Investment team uses a diverse range of vehicles in order to do this including OEICs, Investment Trusts, direct UK equities, gilts, bonds or ETFs.
High quality information
Through meetings with your JC Wealth adviser, you have access to a range of information on the funds. This includes detailed monthly reports for each fund, including full asset allocation and performance summaries as well as Cornelian's latest Market Commentary and Investment Outlook.
